Little Green Dress

I'm days late, but this is what I wore on Easter! I usually go for soft pastels for the holiday, but this year I felt like being bold and making somewhat of statement. You guys know how I feel about dramatic sleeves this season, so imagine the love I felt when I laid eyes on this dress. Honestly, I felt like an adult all day. This dress really makes me feel like I have my life together!! You too can feel that way. Keep on reading for the deets on this dress. Can you guess where it's from?

If you guessed Zara, then you're starting to know me very well and you're absolutely correct!! This beautiful kelly green shift dress comes straight from my favorite store. It's crazy, because I initially purchased a pair of baby pink slacks and vowed to sport them with an over the top blouse on Easter, but this dress changed my mind completely. Shift dresses are my favorite, but the color alone made me go crazy. Normally I don't wear green unless it's olive, but this screamed "try me" at a volume I just couldn't ignore. Ultimately though, it was THE SLEEVES that convinced me! Double layered and slightly ruffled, they really captured my heart. I bought this dress without even trying it on, which is so unlike me. Another feature I really love about this dress, is the length. I'm like really petite. I'm barely five feet tall, so most of the time dresses are either too long or just plain old awkward. This one hit right above my knees, which I greatly appreciate. That means I can wear it with a pair of sneakers and not look like a fool; my Adidas Stan Smiths to be exact! I can see it now with a bold red lip. YASSSSSS! Definitely channeling my inner Tracee Ellis Ross. *flips hair*

Let's talk about my bag for a second. This is the "Too Sassy For You" pouch from my best friend Whitney's latest collection, "Sassy." This is definitely my new everyday bag, because I really need to give my little denim American Apparel pouch a serious break. This taupe color is so neutral and perfect for me! Unzipping it to reveals the super festive lining, and my mini "Oh So Sassy" pouch. Be sure you guys keep up with Whitney because her upcoming collections are wonderful!

Gold accessories and a nude two-strap sandal added the finishing touches on this look. Totally appropriate for church, yet still stylish enough to take on the day. I felt so cute and ladylike, super duper dainty. I also got a million compliments, so I really can't wait to style this dress differently and wear it again. Oh, I can't forget about my lipstick! It's one of the ultra matte liquid lips from Colourpop in the color "Tulle."
