Hey guys!! I know it's been a while since I've been on my blog, but I'm back. I've missed writing about my little life on here so much. I truly don't why I've been neglecting my dot com, but I promise you I still love my baby (my blog) with all my heart. I did take some time to focus more on beauty content and began making mini-IG hair tutorials. The goal is to transition over to YouTube, but y'all know I move like a snail. Great things take time, and I want my content to be perfect before I put it out there. Just bear with me, it'll be worth it. For now, let's catch up!
Ya girl turned 25 over the weekend. Yes, 25-years-old. I won't lie, I feel really mature. Like between October 20th and my birthday on the 21st, a wave a "grown woman" just like covered my soul, leaving me feeling like an actual adult. Not that I hadn't felt grown before, I just really feel like I want to gather my life and become exactly who I want to be! I've coined this age "twenty-thrive" because this is my year to shine. I have a long list of goals to reach between now and my next birthday. I've got a post coming up soon all about turning twenty-thrive and some of the stuff I'll be working on, so stay tuned for that.
Now that I've got that long, welcome-back intro out of the way, let's talk about what I wore on my birthday and what I did. Listen... I didn't go all out with extravagant plans, but I did enjoy myself and managed to do a whole lotta shopping and take some cute selfies featuring my favorite Snapchat Filtas. I also enjoyed a waffle bowl filled with my favorite ice cream from Kilwin's: New Orleans Praline Pecan. Try it, it just might change your life.
I changed up my wardrobe a little bit, so be prepared to see more color, pattern and texture in my upcoming style posts.
So, I've been dying for denim mini skirt for over a year now, but it's been extremely difficult to find one in-store because I'm so small. Thank God for the petite section on ASOS because I can literally find any and everything I need there. I put this skirt in my cart without hesitation and was satisfied to learn it fit me perfectly upon its arrival. That's what I call a win! I've got plans for this skirt.
Red is this season's color, and all my faves have been rocking it with such style and grace, from Kahlana Barfield-Brown to Beverly Beal. I had to slip in a with a little bit of red, because who wants to be left out? Not I! I picked this super cute top up from Zara and it's another item I intend to wear a million times a million different ways. This top goes into another Fall 2017 trend, which is checked floral! It's so clean and stylish. Enough pattern play to help you bypass accessories all together.
Anyone else notice how Zara is decreasing its prices? This top was only $35.90, but I feel like it could have easily been $49+. The store is becoming a lil' more affordable and I am not complaining!
Let's talk shoes and accessories. First up, these bomb a** earrings, and no they are not heavy! For those of you that know me well, you know that I am OBSESSED with earrings. They're practically the only form of jewelry I wear and I love big, stupid details and what not. They add extra flavor to my hair and just really make my look standout more. I grabbed these from Zara for $19.90. Definitely a must-have if you're into another one of this season's biggest trends, fringe! My shoes are from Steve Madden. I watched them for a few months before purchasing, because I didn't really want to spend $139 on 'em. I'm forever on a budget. They were on sale for $49.99 and I decided that was doable. Olive is such a wonderful color to have in your shoe wardrobe.
Really quick, how many of you guys get mink lash extensions? For my birthday I decided I wanted to try some out and OMG, I think I'm in love. I'm not sure if I'm hooked yet, but I definitely will be getting them more often than not. They just add a touch of natural glam and make me feel extra gorgeous! I had mine done where I live in Jacksonville, Florida by NaSchelle at ND Glam Studio.
Check out all the details from my birthday look below. I love you guys!!!!
